KLT automotive containers
product(s)For the industrial supply chain, disposable packaging are almost always a technically and economically nonsensical choice. The smart choice for transport packaging within the industry is using sustainable plastic containers and pallet boxes. Engels Logistiek has been a specialist in the field of sustainable packaging for transport for decades.
In order to reduce the large amount of packaging material, the VDA (Verband Der Automobilindustrie) decided in 1988 to introduce a packaging pool, the so-called KLT containers (KLT = Klein Ladungs ​​Träger). The idea was a good one, but in the end every major brand decided to develop its own version of this transport bin.
- C-KLT, stackable, available with dust seal or sealable lid.
- L-KLT: smooth bottoms, normally stackable.
- R-KLT: stackable, lighter than the classic KLTs. Will eventually replace the C-KLTs. Also available with a smooth bottom. We then speak of the "RL-KLT".
- DC-MLT: DC stands for the brand, Daimler Chrysler. MLT means Medium Ladungs Träger.
KLT transport containers:
- KLT containers can withstand extremely high loads.
- All different versions are stackable with each other.
- All bins are provided with carriers for labels standardized by Odette (Organization for Data Exchange by Tele-Transmission in Europe). Always 1 per base size 300 x 200 mm or 400 x 300 mm and 2 per base size 600 x 400 mm.
- Project-based available in any desired color.
- The exterior dimensions are always a few millimeters smaller than the stated Euronorm dimensions. This makes it possible to work with top caps which have 1200 x 800 mm or 1200 x 1000 mm exterior dimensions.
- Also available in a UN-approved version, for example for transporting explosive airbag cartridges.
Interiors for the automotive industry
One third of the packaging supplied by us consists of custom plastic containers designed, produced and assembled on behalf of the customer. Interiors are a valuable part of the supply chain: they protect the contents during storage and transport and they standardize and organize the delivery of the products, allowing automatic manipulation.
We deliver customized automotive interiors of different materials and use various production methods. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages. For each issue, we look at which materials can best be used. To create a complete packaging, the interiors are often used in combination with our plastic bins and pallet boxes. Also available in ESD safe material.
MLT transport containers
The only series of transport containers whose dimensions are specially adapted to block pallets. Two or four of them always fit on a base of 1200 x 1000 mm. The MLT series are equipped with spacious closed handles and have a grid on the inner walls of the bin in which a product carrier can be clicked into place. With its dimensions, this series fills the gap between KLT containers and pallet boxes.
