Engels Logistics supplies a complete UN-approved logistics solution, based on the use of sturdy bags and plastic wheelie bins.

In the ADR (international legislation for the transport of dangerous substances) and the EURAL (European Waste List) a distinction is made between “unspecified hospital waste” and waste with a serious, known risk of contamination. The first group forms the bulk of the waste.

International regulations also allow sterilization instead of incineration, a much cheaper alternative. After sterilization, there are no longer any special regulations, and the waste can normally be incinerated or landfilled. Until then, this waste flow does fall under the “Act of Transport of Dangerous Substances” even on the hospital's own site.

    User-friendly hospital containers

The UN approved 4-wheel hospital containers from Engels can be fitted with various industry-specific accessories as standard.

One of the most popular products is the pulling system for 4-wheel containers. The containers are linked to each other, so that they can easily be integrated into the internal logistics. This is precisely calculated, you drive a course with 6 containers just as easily as with 1 container. For example, you can take the waste containers with you like a train behind a tractor or forklift. This also saves valuable time. The containers are easy to disconnect by pushing the pull rod down with your foot. In addition to the 660 L, 770 L and 1000 L 4-wheel containers, 2-wheel containers can also be linked together by means of a detachable coupling system.

    Practical and hygienic accessories

We supply the hospital containers as standard with non-marking wheels and a completely smooth and closed interior (without outlet stop). To prevent contamination, lid openers can be mounted on the 2- or 4-wheel container. You can choose from a comfort package or a heavy-duty opener. The comfort package has a gas pressure spring, with which the lid opens and closes silently. The pedal has a slim design with rounded corners. Both openers are always in combination with a tie rod system or reinforcement plates. This also applies to the forklift pickup. The containers can be emptied immediately with the forklift truck used for internal logistics.

The associated waste bags are printed in the prescribed manner. Bag sealers and strong and easy to clean bag holders are also available.

An important (and understandable) requirement is that no liquid may flow from a fallen container. The UN packaging regulation therefore prescribes the use of absorbents in case of the presence of liquids in the containers!
