Engels developed in collaboration with Zes Goes B.V. special mobile plastic transport cabinets for transporting consumer electronics.
Fast and efficient order picking
Getting the products to the right place internally as quickly as possible, to order pick them. That is one of CB's main goals. With a choice of 160,000 products and orders that have to be picked within 2.5 hours, is easier said than done. A shuttle warehouse with order picking bins turned out to be the best solution.
Because the content of the transport cabinets still represents a high value, high demands are also made on the cabinets.
The transport cabinets must meet:
- be extremely robust
- have several shelves for an optimal degree of filling
- be sealable
- equipped with smooth-running wheels
With this package of requirements in mind, Engels developed the custom-made transport cabinets entirely in-house, based on three pallet boxes. The long sides are sawn out of the pallet boxes and are welded together. Two lockable doors are mounted in the open side. The return cabinets are then furnished with adjustable shelves. The top of the cabinets is fitted with a fixed lid.
Because the return cabinets are made entirely of plastic, with a minimum of metal parts, the RFID signal and the scan accuracy are not disturbed.
