As with many large institutions, logistics is an important part of the business process. And with hospitals in particular. Searching for medical resources increases the workload of the staff and can lead to undesirable situations. In addition, hospitals often have to deal with special transports, such as medical instruments, samples, or personal medication. Engels is familiar with the specific requirements for hospitals and knows how to combine plastic containers with all kinds of accessories to suit every situation.
Refrigerated transport
GMP (the basis for safe production) and GDP (norm for safe distribution of medicines) both prescribe refrigerated transport. It is true that not all drugs need to be kept cold, but the carrier must not be required to know the difference between the different requirements of the content.
In order to make distribution and storage possible in accordance with the safety regulations, Engels supplies a series of isothermal external transport containers. For example the door-to-door delivery of the Dutch pharmaceutical company ApotheekZorg and for the distribution of donor blood tubes of Sanquin.
The exterior of the box is made of tough impact resistant plastic, the inside of cold and heat-resistant expanded polypropylene, easy to clean and perfectly insulating. Equipped with a cooling element, the temperature of the inside of the box remains below 6 ° C for the first 24 hours, under normal transport conditions. A plastic barrier between the cooling element and the contents prevents it from getting wet due to condensation.
Internal packaging
With custom interiors, appropriate labelling and sealing, we can make every plastic container suitable for the transport and storage of for example syringes or cytostatics. In recent years we have provided various oncology departments with a special "cytostatics box".
The cytostatic box can easily be closed by means of a lid with patented closures. With a label carrier, the medication can be prepared per person and the patient data can be clearly indicated on the lid so that confusion is prevented. The data is easy to remove, without leaving any sticker residue.
Safe transport
The internal transport of compressed air bottles to the different departments is a daily operation that is not entirely without risk. Often this happens in unsafe conditions (inaccurately stacked on a car without safety facilities ...). Engels has been commissioned to develop a trolley in which compressed air bottles can be transported safely. The new compressed air bottle trolley is universally applicable to the standard diameter of compressed air cylinders. Per cart, 18 compressed air bottles can be stocked in 3 different diameters. The bottles are held in place by specially made inserts. Each insert has 2 copies, so they can be used flexibly.
For checking the intervention equipment, Engels has a simple solution. By applying a seal after filling a cart or bag, you can see in one glance whether it's still complete, which is of vital importance. The seals have a unique numbering, enabling registration and safeguarding the quality of supplementation. The seals have a tear-off zone, which makes the seal easily broken. Once broken, the seal can no longer be used.
